First and foremost Mentimeter is a tool that's planned to be used and presented in your web browser.
However we of course also see the need to sometimes embed the results in Power Point. For this occasion you can use a great tool called LiveWeb which is an third party developed software to embed homepages in Power Point.
Just follow these easy steps:
1. Download http://skp.mvps.org/liveweb.htm
2. Install PPT-addin for your version of PPT
- You might be prompted with the macro virus warning. Enable the macros. When the Add-in is properly loaded, it will display a 'X' against the add-in name.
- Navigate to the folder where the contents of the zip file was extracted and select 'LiveWeb.ppa' and click on OK.
- Extract the contents of the zip to a folder.
- Launch PowerPoint.
- Click on Tools -> Add-ins to bring up the add-ins window.
- Click on Add to bring up the 'Add New PowerPoint Add-in' dialog box.
- Navigate to the folder where the contents of the zip file was extracted and select 'LiveWeb.ppa' and click on OK.
- You might be prompted with the macro virus warning. Enable the macros. When the Add-in is properly loaded, it will display a 'X' against the add-in name.
- Click on Add to bring up the 'Add New PowerPoint Add-in' dialog box.
3. Create your presentation
4. Click Insert -> Web Page
5. Follow the wizzard and enter the public results link (click on "share" on presentation view) as webpage (Example: http://mentimeter.com/public/43e50ece3dd1)
6. That's it. You have successfully loaded the add-in and created a presentation with an embedded mentimeter page. Now put it to use!

Posted on Apr 29, 2012 @ 15:28 by JohnnyI'm not sure if it's been noticeable but during the last two months we've occasionally been affected by our hosting service going down or just becoming slower. As a result we have decided to change hosting solution which makes our service even more reliable and stable.
If you're intrested in the details we can tell your that we're leaving the Swedish web hosting solution Binero (no hard feelings!) and going to a VPS solution at Glesys, using a server located in Amsterdam. On top of that we're serving more of our content from Amazon Cloudfront to get even quicker load times around the globe!

Posted on Mar 11, 2012 @ 22:22 by HenrikMentimeter is the world's most easy-to-use service for audience interaction. It's used all over the world by corporations, lecturers and workshops leaders.
The service now include QR-code, share function & link shortener for an even easier audience interaction.
Audience response systems have looked the same for centuries: non-practical, expensive and difficult to use. Mentimeter, which was released this November, has already been used by thousands and the feedback received has been overwhelmingly positive.
Founder Kristoffer Renholm says: “We’ve received many wishes from presenters to add QR-code functionality and I hope that this upgrade will make it even easier for users to vote using their phones. Even though QR code readers are far from standard in phones today we see a trend and we hope that Apple will choose to include it as default in an upcoming version of iOS.”
See the result live here (thanks to our new embed function):
Mentimeter’s promise to all customers is that all these features introduced today will be available for free for all user.

Posted on Feb 9, 2012 @ 08:57 by JohnnyAudience response systems today are outdated and developed for users many decades ago. In an effort to take the much appreciated function of interacting with live audiences to the next level, Mentimeter.com is launched.
Eliminating any voting devices except your audience own mobile phones, Mentimeter is applicable in almost unlimited number of situations.
Create your question online at mentimeter.com and use any phone to vote using the unique Vote ID. The result will be presented to the audience live as they vote!
Already used by many, Mentimeter has multiple uses. Want your academic lecture to become an interactive forum where ideas and thoughts are being exchanged? Want your wedding speech to be a fun and memorable event? Or are you just curios what people in a meeting really think of a question but don’t dare to say?
Early Mentimeter Beta user and world renowned brain scientist Martin Ingvar says; “Opening a lecture with Mentimeter, I found, is a great way to engage my audience straight away. They get more alert and my lectures are very appriciated”.
Telenor Connexion CEO Per Simonsen who used Mentimeter at a company kick-off says: “We used Mentimeter both before and during our kick-off, a great way to let our employees know how much we appreciate their input and it gave a lot to the discussion during our conference”
